Frequently Asked Questions
How do virtual sessions work? We can meet on platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or WhatsApp. We can cover everything from basic obedience skills, advanced skills, behavior modification for things like aggression, separation distress, or hyperactivity.
How often can we meet for virtual or in person sessions? In person sessions start with an initial visit, and the frequency of follow up sessions are dependent on your pup's needs. Frequency of virtual visits can be weekly, biweekly or as needed. There are packages for virtual sessions for basic skills, advanced skills, manners, or behavior modification.
How effective are virtual sessions? Very, I have extensive experience in this field, my goal is to teach you how to train your dog. I will guide you through each step of teaching a skill/cue, I also help you troubleshoot problem areas. After each visit you will be emailed written directions.
Do you do private sessions? Yes I generally go to your home, but we can do a private lesson anywhere we need to.
Do you do service dog training? No I do not, but if needed I can help you with the basics your dog needs before they go into the service dog training program. This includes getting them used to public areas, and how to react when people and other dogs approach them.
What happens at a behavior consult? I start by getting a full history on your dogs health and behavior, I will carefully study your dog's response to my presence, hopefully see their problem behavior in action taking measures to ensure the safety of everyone involved, try to work with you dog as safely as possible, and formulate a plan for management and recommendations on how to implement training alternative skills to address problem behavior. Shortly after the visit (2-3 days) you will receive a written report that will include a complete set of directions to address the behavior. A report can also be sent to your veterinarian if needed.
